With age, the skin beneath the eyes allows the blood vessels below to become more noticeable. Puffiness, dark circles are characteristics of aging and the eyes are tired, and the lids appear creased and wrinkled. The eye is a highly metabolic organ and the fact that it does not contain any oil glands or fat makes it very susceptible.

An eye cream is a cream that has been tested by ophthalmologists to be safe to use near eyes. The label of a safe eye cream will of often say that the cream matches the pH level of tears and tend to be more emollient than regular moisturizers. Day creams are designed to enhance the appearance of eyes during the day and usually reduce the appearance of puffiness and dark circles. Night Creams are designed to help repair and prevent further damage to skin.

Alpha hydroxy acid and/or retinol are common ingredients used in eye creams. Common firming ingredients that are included in eye creams are caffeine, alcohol, retinol, alpha-hydroxy acids, copper, and vitamin C. While alpha hydroxy acids are suggested by dermatologists, care has to be exercised while using them. What works for one type of skin may produce no results on another. Caffeine and alcohol temporarily dehydrate skin, making it appear taut. Retinol, alpha-hydroxy acids, copper, and vitamin C actually work under the skin to stimulate collagen growth. Researchers believe vitamin k helps to counteract dark shadows caused by too much blood flow and minor bruising under eyes. Kojic acid and hydroquinone are skin-lightening agents, often found in bleaching and age-spot creams.

Coenzyme Q10 is a powerful antioxidant that increases oxygen delivery to tissues, counteracts free radicals, and prevents skin damage. It helps neutralize harmful free radicals, which are one of the causes of aging. CoQ10 may boost skin repair and regeneration and reduce free radical damage. Hyaluronic Acid has natural protein that attracts 1,000 times its weight in water and therefore plumping up fine lines in the eye area. The ingredients in Haloxyl help stimulate the clearance of bilirubin and iron, causing the under eye area to appear lighter and less puffy. Essential Fatty Acids - The outer layer of the skin needs EFAs to maintain its integrity, ward of dryness, and prevent sun damage. Vitamin E: Palm oil derived tocotrienol heals redness, protects against sun damage, and stops flakiness of dry skin. Antioxidant-rich green tea repairs the skin due to its strengthening anti-inflammatory properties and helps drooping skin. Protein peptides promote collagen and elastin production for firmer looking eyes.

Heck not every product out there is a miracle worker, I am sure very few give overnight results. I began using this product every single day about two months ago and it works WONDERS. First you can use it for stretch marks but with a 2 oz. bottle I would stick with small areas. Then you can use it for scars and to moisturize your face and neck, ladies! You must follow the instructions even though they are pretty simple. If I am using this for acne scars, skin discolorations (sun exposure), uneven skin tone I apply either over makeup (may not be recommended as this could remove your makeup)and on a freshly washed face. I use the lengths of my fingers not fingertips since they produce the oils that could cause you breakouts from YES touching your face. I rub into the affected area or scar (even works on cystic acne scars) atleast two to three times a day when I am able to. But if not I do this at night before going to bed. Be patient and wait one to two weeks before you notice a big difference as the scar gets lighter your face appears to be glowing and skin discolorations slowly fade. Keep on it atleast everyday and if you want faster results like I did then rub this oil into the area two to three times a day. I am glad I bought this and one bottle lasted me over two months and I used it everyday! Give this product a try, be patient, follow the directions and you may not be disappointed.

I for years have struggled with Rosacea. The prescription creams from my doctor manage to prevent outbreaks but do not address the redness well. I've been using this product for over two weeks and there has been a marked decrease in the redness on my cheeks, nose and chin.

The product applies well and is quickly absorbed by the skin. There is no oily residue.

Another thing I really like about this product is a little goes a long way. As I said I have been using this for over 2 weeks and looking at the bottle just a little has been used.

This is a great product with wonderful results!

I had heard about this product when I was pregnant with my first child, but didn't get a chance to use it. I used cocoa butter and baby oil, and I ended up with some pretty bad stretch marks. Now that I am pregnant with my second child, I decided that it might be beneficial to try to prevent getting any more if possible. Within 3 days of using this product, my magenta colored stretch marks have turned brownish and are fading significantly. It's amazing! I wish I had thought to take pics. I have even used it on my face and it feels wonderful, as it absorbs very quickly. As a side-note, an old stitches scar on my palm is also diminishing because of the contact with the oil. I highly recommend this to anyone with small scars, wrinkles, crows-feet, or stretch marks. Great Product!

I purchased this on the recommendation of a co-worker; I have acne scars, and short of dermabrasion, I've been told nothing could improve the appearance of my skin. It's only been a few weeks, and I have not been all that diligent about using the BioOil twice a day -- but I already see improvement in the scarring. AND -- totally unexpected, evening out of skin tone...both a lightening of dark spots and blending of white ones.

(Those ugly "sun spots" that occur here in the sunbelt.) I've begun using it on my forearms, and there is marked improvement in the sundamage. This is pretty great stuff.

I was so surprised after a few weeks of using this product. My scars look years old, and I recently had surgery about 6 weeks ago! The scars used to be raised and bright red and purple, but not anymore. They are smooth and almost all the color has disappeared. It looks as if they have been healing for years. The only complaint that I have it the adhesive wears off after 3-4 days and each strip is supposed to last a whole week. Other than that, it's a great product.

My plastic surgeon recommended ScarAway silicone sheets for treatment of a 6" long and 1/4-1/2" wide jagged, irregular, red, thickened scar that resulted from surgery on my arm after an accident. I have to admit I was skeptical because I had never heard of silicone for scars before, but the difference is nothing short of amazing! I used this item every day as directed. During just the first few days my scar tissue was softened tremendously. after finishing the therapy, the entire scar flattened and faded dramatically...no one even notices it as the texture of my skin and the color are no longer rough and red and have transformed like I never imagined it could. Overall this item was simple to use and very effective. I was surpised by the result, my surgeon, however, was not...as he said that silicone sheet therapy has been used in hospitals and to treat burn scars for a long time. My only complaint is that it was hard to find. I found it online and have been told it is also available in medical supply stores, but not regular pharmacies. so I would suggest they make it available in stores.
