Approximately 65% of the world’s most exquisite perfume oil essences are produced from the blossoms of Ylang Ylang, Jasmine and Orange that grow in the Comoros Islands.  The unusual climate contributes to rich vegetation which helps to produce an abundance of wonderful spices as well.  The harvesting of the blossom essences and spices are the primary foundation of their economy, and Ylang Ylang Oil makes up for approximately 30% of their annual export. 

Years ago, the essences harvested from this area would have been considered to be of France and Madagascar origin.  Since becoming independent of France, essences harvested strictly from the Comoros Islands are considered by many in the perfume industry to be the most exquisite essences available.

On a Personal Note:  This is one of the BEST Ylang Ylang oils I have ever worked with!  It has a very strong, sharp aroma when smelled directly from the bottle.  This is definitely an oil that fits the category of “less is more” – to get the true scent of what you will be working with, place just a drop of oil onto a piece of perfume paper, blotter, etc. – allow to dry – and WOW!  I think you will find that this oil truly lives up to the expectations implied by the name “Flower of Flowers” - “Fragrance of Fragrances”

Ylang Ylang has been used for years in aromatherapy due to it's sedative and anti-depressant properties.  It carries a sweet sensual smell of flowers and is considered by many cultures to be a romantic oil and an aphrodesiac.  In Indonesia, the petals of the Ylang Ylang flower are traditionally spread across the beds of newlyweds. Ylang Ylang can be found in some of the most exquisite perfume oils made.  Recently, the oil has become increasingly popular in the cosmetic world due to it's remarkable affects on the skin and hair.  It has the ability to maintain the skin's natural oil balance and contributes to an overall healthy appearance and glow.  Ylang Ylang can be found in some of the most high-end cosmetics formulated for dry and aging skin, as well as in hair-care products formulated to stimulate hair growth.  Adding a couple of drops of ylang ylang oil to a hair brush is said to provide extra conditioning, softness and shine. 

Ylang Ylang makes a wonderful addition to massage oils, diffusers, room sprays, body sprays, bath oils, lotions and creams.  This is a very strong oil and aromatherapy benefits can be experienced by diluting just a few drops into one ounce of unscented oil.  Using too much of this oil in a cosmetic formula can result in the inability to experience the wonderful floral notes.

My interest in skin care ingredients began about 6 years ago after witnessing a relative battle with toxic poisoning.  Her condition caused extreme sensitivity to many chemicals requiring her to follow very strict guidelines in regards to what she put into and onto her body.  We had to pay very close attention to product labels.  Prior to this, I had never paid much attention to the ingredients in my shampoo, lotions, soaps etc.  I assumed that they were safe simply because they were on a store shelf. You know what they say about assuming ... I was shocked to learn about the neurological dangers and possible cancer risks associated with many products that I used daily.  A year later, my son developed Eczema.  His Physician suggested that I avoid lotions/creams with petroleum, mineral oil, alcohol, paraffins, etc.  It was difficult, if not impossible, to find the recommended products.  By this time, I was so fed up that I began making my own products.  Rather than testing on animals, I used my family and friends.  They fell in love with these products and I began selling them locally at various trade shows and events.  The materials and oils that I am listing are the same materials and oils that I use to formulate the products that I sell, as well as the products that I use on my own children.  Needless to say, they are quality products.  I have been through the wringer buying and sampling products from various suppliers over the years.  I have spent a lot of money - and thrown away a lot of product - during my quest for finding pure quality ingredients. 

One road block that I have run into has been finding reasonable quantities at reasonable prices.  My business is home-based and my home is not that large, so buying 2000 bottles or 100 pounds of oil at a time is not practical.  Based on comments and feedback that I have gotten from some of the members in my soapers group, I have come to realize that I am not alone in this dilemma.  Therefore, I have decided to offer normal size quantities to those of you who make and sell your own products.

This oil should be a standard in all households!  Lavender Essential Oil contains anti-septic and anti-fungal properties making it an excellent oil for treating cuts, scrapes, burns, psoriasis, acne and eczema.  In addition, Lavender is often used as a disinfecting skin and scalp treatment and has proven beneficial in the treatment of head lice and nits.  There is virtually no bath and body product that has not benefited from the addition of Lavender Essential Oil including anti-aging formulations.  In addition to the many skin-related therapeutic benefits associated with Lavender, it works wonderfully to relieve stress, anxiety and tension.  Lavender Essential Oil is one of the most popular ingredients in room sprays and offers a fabulous clean crisp scent.

Lavender Essential Oil can tend to be very strong and will often over-power other oils when blending  - so if you are using it to scent sachets, room sprays, etc., I recommend diluting well.  I have found that my finished products tend to have more of a medicinal smell when I use too much.

 

(Although there are many children's products on the market that contain Lavender Essential Oil, you should be very careful when using essential oils on very young children - their skin is very thin and chemicals can quickly absorb into their blood stream. This is something to keep in mind when using "any" product on a child - especially commercial products containing large amounts of chemicals. Many Holistic Practitioners recommend that no oils or fragrance should be used in an infant's baths. They recommend strictly unscented castille soap.

Fennel Essential Oil (Foeniculum Vulgare) - is most commonly used for treating digestive issues and for toning of the skin.   Fennel works well in many bath and body products due to it’s versatile uses.  It works well to rejuvenate dull skin, prevent acne and to reduce wrinkles in aging skin.  In addition, it is believed to reduce visibility of bruises.  Fennel is often used as a therapeutic bath oil in cases of rheumatism and edema and is a valuable ingredient in massage oils used to reduce cellulite, bloating and constipation.

ABOUT MY PRODUCTS

My interest in skin care ingredients began about 6 years ago after witnessing a relative battle with toxic poisoning.  Her condition caused extreme sensitivity to many chemicals requiring her to follow very strict guidelines in regards to what she put into and onto her body.  We had to pay very close attention to product labels.  Prior to this, I had never paid much attention to the ingredients in my shampoo, lotions, soaps etc.  I assumed that they were safe simply because they were on a store shelf. You know what they say about assuming ... I was shocked to learn about the neurological dangers and possible cancer risks associated with many products that I used daily.  A year later, my son developed Eczema.  His Physician suggested that I avoid lotions/creams with petroleum, mineral oil, alcohol, paraffins, etc.  It was difficult, if not impossible, to find the recommended products.  By this time, I was so fed up that I began making my own products.  Rather than testing on animals, I used my family and friends.  They fell in love with these products and I began selling them locally at various trade shows and events.  The materials and oils that I am listing are the same materials and oils that I use to formulate the products that I sell, as well as the products that I use on my own children.  Needless to say, they are quality products.  I have been through the wringer buying and sampling products from various suppliers over the years.  I have spent a lot of money - and thrown away a lot of product - during my quest for finding pure quality ingredients. 

One road block that I have run into has been finding reasonable quantities at reasonable prices.  My business is home-based and my home is not that large, so buying 2000 bottles or 100 pounds of oil at a time is not practical.  Based on comments and feedback that I have gotten from some of the members in my soapers group, I have come to realize that I am not alone in this dilemma.  Therefore, I have decided to offer normal size quantities to those of you who make and sell your own products. 

I purchase ingredients almost every other day (I have become addicted over the years!), so I will have a variety of oils, butters, herbs, additives, etc. to offer you.  However, I am extremely busy and this is a slow process...so if you are in need of a supply before I can get it posted, please do not hesitate to contact me.  If I don't have it, I can get it.
