This stuff is amazing! I was given a sample of it last year at Disneyland after getting a bad sunburn. I hurt so bad I thought we were going to miss a day of playing. When we got back to the hotel, I put this on and almost immediately the pain was gone. The next couple days I alternated between sunscreen during the day and this at night and you couldn't even tell I'd ever been burned. Amazing product! Overall, the best thing about it is the instant pain relief.

I was so surprised after a few weeks of using this product. My scars look years old, and I recently had surgery about 6 weeks ago! The scars used to be raised and bright red and purple, but not anymore. They are smooth and almost all the color has disappeared. It looks as if they have been healing for years. The only complaint that I have it the adhesive wears off after 3-4 days and each strip is supposed to last a whole week. Other than that, it's a great product.

Not a day goes by that I don't use these gelcaps, ever since my stroke 6 years ago. Not only that, but now I also purchase them for my mother. who just turned 80 in July. Her doctor said her cholesterol results lowered over 40 points in just 2 months after starting to use this product. My results changed dramatically from high triglycerides + high blood pressure to an average range within normal limits. Both doctors said to keep this regimen since it is definitely helping because diets alone and medications weren't enough to give these kind of results.

Fish Oil has been proven helpful in vascular health and with cholesterol. Kirkland is a trusted brand name of supplements and vitamins. It is recommended that an individual gets 1,000 mg of Omega-3 fatty acids per day. More won't hurt, but additional amounts have not proven beneficial. In fact, some reports claim that keeping the dosage at 1,000 mg is MOST beneficial. With Kirkland products, you are guaranteed quality and consistently. Especially good if you are not a big fish eater like myself. There is also no odor. I would recommend using a search engine to learn all you can about vitamin supplements. This one product is the most cost effective.

UPDATE: Doctors now say that you need 1,000mg of EPA every day. If the bottle does not state the amount - avoid it. If it says 180mg of EPA, that's five pills a day. Search on-line for Nutra Origin - its the best I have found since.

Bottom Line: Fish Oil really works to prevent artery disease, namely heart disease and strokes. It's not a bogus health food thing, it really works.

You need the EPA and the DHA from the fish. The other omega-3's, 6's etc. aren't the same. Skip the flaxseed, etc. You want enough EPA and DHA, you don't wanna be grossed out by the taste or get a fishy "repeat", and you don't wanna drink a bunch of unnecessary fat.

This stuff is good because: it has the right concentration of EPA/DHA: 1.3 g/teasp, which is high. And it tastes good. Even Nordic Naturals, a very respected company, has a similar EPA/DHA level, but tastes nasty.

Remember these supplements aren't regulated. Go to consumerlabs.com, they test the supplements. This wasn't tested, but Carlson capsules and cod liver oil were tested and passed, so i assume and hope this passes also.

That's all you need to know. If you're 30 or older, and you have high blood pressure and cholesterol like everyone else, take in at least 2 grams of EPA/DHA a day, your arteries will stay clean.

Americans consume a dangerously insufficient amount of Omega-3, which is a fat essential to good health but only found in fish oil and a few other foods. However, our intake of Omega-6, which is a fat found in corn, soy, sunflower and other oils, is too high. The ideal ratio of Omega-6 to Omega-3 should be 1:1, but the typical American's ratio ranges greater than 20 to 1.

Omega-3 oils are essential to good glucose tolerance, and you need to remember that the worst fat of all is abundant in American diets - trans-fatty acids. Cells cannot get glucose or vitamin C inside when those cell walls are made by DuPont!

While Omega-3 can also be found in flaxseed, walnuts and a few other foods, the most beneficial form of Omega-3 - containing two fatty acids, DHA and EPA, that are essential to fighting and preventing both physical and mental disease - can only be found in fish. Unfortunately, fish often contains harmful mercury and other toxins, making it unsafe to consume in large quantities. Fish of all varieties from all water sources are now showing dangerously high levels of the tasteless but highly toxic metal, mercury.

I've been very pleased with this product- easy to take, only need 1 or 2 per day, seems to have a good concentration of Omega-3s. My concern is that unlike most other fish oil pills, there is no information on how much EPA and DHA (specific types of Omega-3s) are in the pills. My understanding is that EPA and DHA are what is good for you, and the miscellaneous other Omega 3s are not as helpful. The figure of 684mg total Omega 3s seems high (good), but who knows how much of that is the helpful EPA and DHA omega 3s? Does anyone have any information on this?

Nordic Naturals Ultimate Omega 3, a very expensive brand, contains 325mg EPA, 225mg DHA and 90mg "other Omega 3s" in each pill. These Kirkland pills have a little more total Omega 3 (684mg vs 640mg) but who knows if there is much or any of the beneficial Omega 3s.

I've tried my share of fiber supplements recently, as part of a healthier diet. Most adults need 25-30 gm fiber per day, and if you don't eat enough fruits and vegetables, it's hard to get that amount daily. I chose these tablets because I don't have to mess with measuring out powders or changing the taste of my juice/water.

Pros: The fiber is pre-measured - chew 2-4 tablets a day and you're on your way to getting enough of the daily recommended fiber. Taste is not bad. This includes three different flavors, and while the grape is a little tangy/sour for my preference, the other two are decent. This brand also includes the most fiber per serving, up to twice the amount per serving in other brands such as Benefiber.

Cons: The inulin, where the fiber comes from, makes the tablets really stick in your teeth. It's a rather weird texture and occasionally makes me feel like I'm chewing on foil (hard to describe any other way), which is the reason for the 4- rather than 5-star rating. Overall though, still a good choice for fiber supplements.

Getting this on Amazon and having a pack of two shipped to my door is very convenient, and even more cost-effective than buying it at my local Target.

In an ideal world all of us would be getting many more servings of fruits and vegetables than we actually end up with, but since we don't live in an ideal world it is a smart thing to do to get supplements that help us achieve our nutritional goals. These chewable tablets have many advantages over more traditional powdered dietary fiber supplements. There is no messy mixing into drinks, which makes them convenient to use outside home. Furthermore, they actually taste pretty good so you don't have an instinctive aversion towards them. However, you have to be careful: these tablets are not meant to completely supplant all of your soluble fiber needs. You should still strive to make your meals as balanced as possible.

The only issue that I have with these tablets is that since they are sugar free they leave a bit of an uncomfortable taste in my mouth that I have come to associate with most products that use sugar substitute. Other than that, this is a very good product that will help you maintain a balanced diet.

There are several ways to get enough fiber in your diet. The best, of course, is through your diet. This means more fruits and vegetables, and fewer fast foods and snack foods. The second is by using the 'bulking' fiber supplements that use the old standby, psyllium fiber. Psyllium fiber products such as Metamucil are effective, but many people don't like the gritty texture. After all, these products are ground-up seeds with the tiny seeds attached. The third way is to use a product such as Benefiber, which has a nice texture and dissolves almost completely in water or fruit juice, and is much easier to take/swallow.

I'd suggest starting out slowly, adding a bit of Benefiber to your morning orange juice. Add a bit more every day or every other day, so you body can adjust to the increased bulk in your digestive tract.

Our bodies were made to operate on a high-fiber diet. Native plants did not come as fruit leather or in popsicles. They came as whole fruits, fiber, vitamins and minerals and all of the other healthful products of raw fruits and vegetables.

I do eat a healthy diet, but I still use added fiber. Why? The bulking makes me more regular, healthy, and I feel better. I believe it helps regulate fat and cholesterol in my body as well. It helps mimic the diets we humans evolved with on our planet.

I am dieting, seriously, and while I have no need for "regulation", I am trying to increase my fiber intake without wasting too many calories on it. I also don't want to be bothered with mixing powders, or chewing tablets. This seems to do the trick. I would guess that it will remain part of my diet. Just wish they came in larger quantity containers. When you are taking 4 to 6 a day, the bottle doesn't last long. So far I've lost 25 pounds and have only 39 to go. And, importantly, I am staying healthy.

Methylcellulose does seem to provide the bulking needed to solve my problem. However, I don't take it as described on the bottle (2 up to 6 times a day). I take 4 with my first meal of the day, and if I eat a meal later that may have a higher quantity of fat (which causes loose stools) then I might take 2 more with that meal. This method seems to work for me. You might be able to find methylcellulose in a generic version though.

I've been using this for a couple of years to help with LDL cholesterol levels. Any kind of fiber (soluble or insoluble) is good for keeping your plumbing functional, but soluble fiber is harder to come by and it is what helps within the circulation system. I don't know whether to credit careful dietary habits, exercise, or help from soluble fiber, but something is helping significantly. The price seems reasonable -- but watch for fluctuations.
